From our parent organization's information bulletin for October 1996, I have excerpted the following article about insects on the Internet, Regional Insects, the Nordic Entomology Meeting in Estonia and the 8th Swedish Entomology Meeting 1997, and Thrushes.
Did you know that the search term "Lepidoptera" in October '96 yielded 2753 websites, "Odonata" 637 sites, and Ulf's jewel beetles "Buprestidae" 156 sites.

Entomology on the Internet
Here you get a small taste of what you can find on the internet, right now.
Thure Svensson has created a Swedish website "Swedish Macrolepidoptera" with interesting information about macrolepidoptera. Here you can read about SEF, interesting finds and pictures of species new to the country. You can also link further to entomological websites in Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Estonia and others. There are plans to present interesting finds etc., every month during the year, in the same manner as in Estonia or Belgium. To make this possible, Thure depends on continuous reporting from collectors. This year one could, for example, read about interesting finds of macrolepidoptera long before ET came out.
