"DANSE MACABRE"
An article about hunting spiders in Insectifera no. 4, 1996 has inspired me to present a couple of photographs that I took once when it was time to change to winter tyres. Several dead hunting spiders had gathered in a ring on a car tyre in a death dance, "Danse macabre". Is it common for spiders to gather like this, is it typical of hunting spiders, or is what is depicted here an isolated phenomenon—something unique?

”DANSE MACABRE”
