What is new that I now come to is that ICZN has taken note of the debate conducted and has now issued a new newsletter in which they present what changes can be expected when the commission's work is completed. The Third Edition remains unchanged during this year. The new code is expected to be published in September and to take effect as of January next year.
The controversial point 3 has now received the following wording:
"When the name-bearing type of a species-group taxon proposed after 1999 consists of a preserved specimen or specimens, the proposal will be required to include a statement giving the name and location of collection(s) in which the name-bearing type is to be found."
Thus, the requirement that the holotype be preserved in a public institution or museum has now been removed.

Det nya som jag nu kommer till är att ICZN tagit intryck av den förda debatten och har
nu kommit ut med ett nytt nyhetsblad, där man redovisar vilka förändringar som kan
förväntas när kommissionens arbete är slutfört. The Third Edition gäller oförändrad under
detta år. Den nya koden beräknas vara publicerad i september och gälla f.o.m. januari
nästa år.
